Contact DeSantis

Last year Governor Ron DeSantis made comments suggesting he does not support granting control of Vacation Rentals to the State.

This year’s proposed legislation (SB 522 and HB 219) is nearly identical to last year’s bills (SB1128 and HB1011).

We want to thank Governor DeSantis for recognizing that local regulations over Vacation Rentals are best, and show our support for a decision to stop these bills.

From a February 24, 2020 interview (read article here or watch video here)

…We are a very diverse state. For us to be micromanaging vacation rentals, I am not sure that is the right thing to do,” Governor Ron DeSantis told reporters. “These are things where you’ll have kind of a quiet neighborhood, then you will have someone doing this and there are parties going on and some of the residents get upset. My view would be, probably, that should be determined locally.”
